Lake Michigan Breathing

I went for a run along the Lake Michigan shoreline on Sunday January 16, 2022. Ice was forming along the edge of the shore and when I stopped to get a closer look I heard breathing. I laid down on the ice and calmed my breathing until the sound of Lake Michigan “breathing” could be clearly heard. From the cracks and crevices was the sound of air pushed through the fissures created by the movement of the water below. Turn up the volume on the video below and listen to Lake Michigan “breathe.”
