Sometimes you look through the lens of a camera and realize the picture you’re taking is special. Nature sets the table. You just have to arrive, notice and capture the moment. The winds sweep across Lake Michigan and when they hit the ever changing shoreline in West Michigan they go to work. Like an artist, a sculptor, the wind takes beach sand and snow and layers the elements until frozen in place for a temporary time. Right place right time. This drift looked good enough to eat when I came across it. Like an expensive ice cream, cake or tiramisu you would order for dessert at a nice restaurant. As I focus the lens I can imagine a coffee flavored Italian dessert. Ladyfingers dipped in coffee, layered with a whipped mixture of eggs, sugar, and mascarpone cheese, flavoured with cocoa and delicious chocolate frosting. You focus the camera and shoot. Delicious.
