On Sunday November 1, 2020 the gales of November blew through West Michigan ushering in a new season. I took my camera and laid low on the dune as the winds roared overhead. The combination of the wind and the waves along the Lake Michigan shoreline created the sound of a freight train thundering down the tracks. Meanwhile from my position (laying on my stomach) I was offered the perspective of the intricate work being done by the wind as it sculpted the sand, casting off what wasn’t needed and displaying the artistic forms and patterns with what remained.
